As the weather becomes chillier you may feel more inclined to make your environment warmer, cozier and ultimatley more inviting. With this in mind, I would like to introduce you to the concept of Hygge.

What is Hygge?
Hygge is originally a Danish concept of acknowledging moments of coziness regardless of your surroundings and who you are with.

Regardless, here are 9 ways you can make your environment cozier this Autumn/Winter.

1. Candles
Add candles around your home that you can light in the evening, there's something about candlelight, it creates a calming, cozy atmosphere that helps you feel more relaxed and at peace.

5 Switches You Need to Make For a Better Nights Sleep | Victoria jiju

This week I went back to work after the six week holidays, with that been said, I have had such a hard time getting to sleep in the evening. This has lead me to research different ways that would help me get a better night's sleep. From all the research I have completed, I have picked out the key pieces that I think will help you have a better night's sleep. So grab a hot cup of coffee and read the switches you can make to have a better night's sleep starting tonight.
1. Switch your phone for a book Spending time on technology before bed suppresses the release of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin due to the blue light technology radiates. Using technology stimulates the brain into being more active therefore, the more technology you use before bed, the less chance you will have of having a good night's sleep. Consequently, I suggest the hour before you hope to fall asleep switch any technology out for a book. Old fashioned books or e-readers that use e-ink like the k…

5 Habits that will Make Your Morning More Organised | Victoria Jiju

One of the key ways to have the most productive morning routine before you head to school/college/work is to prepare. The quote 'fail to prepare or prepare to fail' fits so well with this process. If you follow these 5 habits you are much more likely to have a super smooth morning and get out the door on time. So here you go, 5 habits that will help organise your morning.

4 Free Workouts to Change up Your Routine | Victoria Jiju

Fitness is phenomenally helpful not only for your mental health but also for your physical health. I personally am not the fittest at all and have only recently began my fitness journey (click here to see how I got into it). When we exercise, we increase our serotonin levels which is one of the hormones that affects mood. Therefore the more regularly we participate in healthy amounts of exercise, the more chance we will have of improving our mental health. Some research has even gone as far to say that exercising regularly can often be just as effective as some anti-depressant medication.

Knowing that lock down may cause my depression to rear it's ugly head, I began to regularly exercise to try minimize the chances of those dark thoughts creeping in. However, now being 10-12 weeks in, I've found myself getting bored of the same types of exercise. As a result I have listed 4 FREE workouts you can checkout to boost your physical and mental health in a variety of ways.
